Cambridge, Mass. – The Boston office of Forest City Enterprises, a national real estate developer, today announced that it will sponsor this year’s Charlestown Boys & Girls Club golf tournament to be held on May 28, 2004 at the Windham Country Club, in Windham, New Hampshire. Forest City generously stepped in with a donation of $10,000 after the previous corporate sponsor had chose not to continue with the tournament.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to sponsor a variety of youth programs at the club including education; the arts; life skills; leadership and character development; sports, fitness and recreation; and technology. More than 1,400 boys & girls in the Charlestown area will benefit as a direct result of this sponsorship.

“We are thrilled to welcome Forest City as our partner in this wonderful event that will raise funds for our numerous programs,” said Jenny Atkinson, Executive Director of the Charlestown Boys & Girls Clubs. “It is proceeds from events such as this that help make the Charlestown club a place where any young person can come to try something new, get help with homework, play a game of pool or just talk to an adult who cares about them. With a history over a century long, new state-of-the-art facilities, and partners like Forest City, the Charlestown Club is positioned to be a positive force in the community for another 100 years."
