University Park
University Park's system of parks and open spaces is the web that knits the campus together and encourages vitality both day and night. The centerpiece of this system is the richly landscaped 1.3-acre University Park Common, recipient of the the Massachusetts Horticultural Society's Urban Landscape Award.

Within the Common, the Traces public art project is a collaborative effort by Forest City and local residents to trace the history of the Cambridgeport neighborhood.

Other landscaped urban parks — including the half-acre Landsdowne Quadrangle as well as smaller, more private courtyards — establish a pedestrian-friendly environment and reach out to the surrounding neighborhood, so that University Park is a welcoming and comfortable gathering place for employees, residents, and the broader Cambridge community.
